// POLICY // DOMAINS AND DNS

Domains and DNS: what is yours and what we do.

This page removes the most common misunderstanding. Operyx is not a domain registrar and not a hosting provider. We build the site or system and connect it to infrastructure that belongs to you.

WHAT WE DO
  • [+]Build the site or system within the agreed scope
  • [+]Prepare and configure the DNS records
  • [+]Connect the domain and set up the SSL certificate
  • [+]Publish the site and verify availability
  • [+]Monitor domain and certificate expiry (on a maintenance plan)
  • [+]Hand over the full configuration in writing
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
  • [–]We do not sell domains and are not a registrar
  • [–]We do not provide or resell hosting in our own name
  • [–]We never register a domain under Operyx
  • [–]We do not pay third-party invoices for you without a written agreement
  • [–]We do not mark up registrar or cloud fees
  • [–]We keep no control over your domain after the engagement ends
01

Ownership

The domain and hosting account are always registered in the client's name.

  • The domain is registered by your company or by you personally; the registrant is never Operyx.
  • If you do not have a domain yet, we help you choose one and show how to register it, but you make the purchase.
  • If the domain is historically registered to someone else, we move it to your account before handover.
  • Ending our cooperation does not affect your access — the domain was never ours.
02

What “connecting” means

We perform the technical steps that make the finished site load on your domain.

  • We prepare and specify the required DNS records (A, CNAME, TXT).
  • We enter them in your registrar panel if you grant access, or hand precise instructions to your IT contact.
  • We connect both the root domain and www, set up redirects and the SSL certificate.
  • After publishing we verify the site loads and document the configuration in the handover notes.
03

Access and responsibility

Registrar access stays with you; temporary or delegated access is enough for us.

  • Delegated or invited access is sufficient for DNS changes; we never ask for your full account password.
  • If you prefer to enter the records yourself, we are responsible for their content, not for typing errors.
  • Renewing the domain on time is the owner's responsibility. An expired domain takes the site offline regardless of our work.
  • Maintenance includes monitoring domain and certificate expiry with timely warnings — not paying those invoices for you.
04

Effect on invoicing

Third-party fees are never included in our invoices and never marked up.

  • Domain registration and renewal are paid directly to your registrar.
  • Hosting or cloud subscriptions are registered in your name and paid directly to that provider.
  • Our invoice covers development, connection, configuration and maintenance only.
  • If we exceptionally purchase something on your behalf, it is agreed in writing beforehand and passed on at cost.
05

Effect on timelines

DNS changes are not instant, and the handover schedule must account for that.

  • DNS propagation usually takes minutes to 24 hours, occasionally up to 72 hours.
  • SSL issuance only starts once the DNS records are publicly visible.
  • If registrar access arrives late, the launch date shifts accordingly; the development timeline does not.
  • Handover is complete once the site is reachable on your domain and the configuration is documented.
